Services
Toncam as the business is now known, was established in 1996 by Ian Tonkin.
His work ethics and values quickly grew the business to be a household name cleaning carpets and upholstery in the highland area.
Using the Magna-dry system, excellent results would be achieved and the business grew on repeat custom and referrals, a testament to the service provided.
Sadly and very unexpectedly Ian was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December of 2004, and passed away in January of 2005.
His youngest son Glen took voluntary redundancy from his project management role for TUI in London to move home to take over the business.
Toncam employees are fully certified contractors with Bona.
Training Courses are frequently attended to ensure our employees stay up to speed with the latest technology and processes for maintaining wooden flooring.
Bona are experts in wood floor renovation, maintenance and floor care since 1919, and make the perfect partner for Toncam.
Toncam only use the best sanding equipment along with portable dust extraction machines to offer as dust free a service as possible.
This will increase the customer satisfaction and maintain a healthier environment throughout the sanding process.
Here at Toncam we use a Magna-Dry system.
Fully ensured you are dealing with a professional company that was established in 1996.
The Magna-Dry system uses a positively charged non-toxic environmentally safe cleaning solution that is safe to use around children and animals to break down dirt and soil trapped in the carpet fibres.
The two chemicals create positives and negatives that extract the dirt with the use of a rotary machine to activate the chemicals through a process called ionisation.
No sticky residue is left to re-attract soiling, so your carpets stay cleaner longer.
Toncam can clean and restore all types of different wooden flooring species, both solid and engineered boards.
The cleaning process will largely depend on what is protecting the floor and the condition that it is in.
Proper cleaning will prolong the life of the floor.
Advice can also be given on the general day to day cleaning of your floor and a range of products supplied by Toncam that would be suitable for this.
For wooden flooring, a site visit is generally recommended to discuss with you what the best course of action would be.
Toncam only sell responsibly sourced and manufactured flooring, over 95% will be FSC certified (Forestry Stewardship Council).
This helps protect the environment for future generations.
The choice is endless.
At Toncam we encourage you to visualize what you would like from your wooden floor, and we will produce or source it to match your requirements.
So many factors will have to be taken into account such as species of wood, plank lengths and widths, tones, textures, design patterns, choice of finish, laying angles, wood grade and finishing touches - all determine how your floor will look.
